Leave Elizabethtown for a haunted farm in Brandenburg where a two-story barn, forbidden woods, six-acre corn maze and haunted hayride can fill the night.
If you are looking for a haunted house near Elizabethtown, Kentucky, decide first whether you want one quick walkthrough or a destination that can take over the night.
Field of Screams sits on an old farm in Brandenburg with four different haunted environments on the same property: a six-acre haunted corn maze, the massive two-story haunted barn, the forbidden woods and Hayride 2 Hell. The setting is rural, the ground is real and the darkness does not end at the wall of a building.
That makes it a strong Halloween road trip for friends, couples and groups coming from Elizabethtown and the surrounding Hardin County area.
Why leave Elizabethtown for a haunted farm?
The answer is scale and variety.
An indoor haunted house controls what you see by narrowing the world around you. A farm can do the opposite. The barn closes in, but the woods open into darkness. The maze surrounds you with rows of corn. The hayride moves your group through the landscape instead of keeping you on one hallway path.
Those changes keep the experience from settling into a pattern. Someone who laughs through the barn may not like the treeline. The person who feels comfortable in the open may change their mind when six acres of corn erase the view behind them.
At Field of Screams, the Main Event includes the corn maze, barn and woods. Hayride 2 Hell can be purchased by itself, and the Combo Ticket covers the whole farm. See the current choices on our Tickets and Pricing page.

What waits when you arrive
The two-story haunted barn
The barn gives you the classic haunted-house pressure: rooms, corners, tight sightlines and the feeling that something knows where you are before you know where it is. It is where the outside world begins to disappear.
The forbidden woods
Then the walls are gone. The path moves beneath trees, with sound and movement coming from places you cannot measure. The woods use the real farm landscape instead of trying to imitate it indoors.
The six-acre haunted corn maze
Every year since 2002, a new aerial design has been cut into the corn. The full maze-design archive runs through 2026. From the air, the design is art. From inside the maze after dark, it is a problem your group has to solve while the field refuses to stay quiet.
Hayride 2 Hell
Hayride 2 Hell carries your group through fog-covered fields and multiple locations of horror. The wagon gives everybody a place to sit. It does not give everybody a way out.
Turn the drive into part of the night
A haunted-house road trip works best when the group plans the simple things before leaving Elizabethtown.
Choose one driver. Send everyone the ticket options. Agree on whether the group wants the Main Event or the whole-farm experience. Bring cash because Field of Screams is cash only, with ATMs onsite. Set the official address in your map before the road grows darker.
The address is 132 Darnall Ave, Brandenburg, KY 40108. We are one mile past the Otter Creek Park entrance. Do not turn into the park. Keep going and watch for our signs. Mobile signal can thin out near the farm, so use the official directions before you leave rather than waiting until the last intersection.

Dress for the ground, not the photo
Field of Screams is an outdoor farm attraction as well as an indoor haunt. You may walk through fields, woods and corn. Wear comfortable shoes with grip, and make sure they are shoes you do not mind getting dirty.
Fall weather can change, so check conditions before leaving Elizabethtown and wear layers that work outdoors. The best outfit is the one you stop thinking about once the barn door is behind you.

2026 dates and hours
Field of Screams is open Fridays and Saturdays from September 18 through October 31, 2026. The attraction opens at dusk, and the attraction runs until 1:00 AM.

Confirm those details on the website before every visit. Seasonal information can change, and the live core pages are always the final source.

Is the trip worth it if you only like one kind of scare?
That depends on the ticket you choose. A person who loves indoor haunted houses can still enter the maze, barn and woods through the Main Event, discovering whether that preference survives the outdoor sections. A visitor interested mostly in the wagon can purchase Hayride 2 Hell by itself. A mixed group can choose the Combo Ticket and let each person have a different favorite.
The farm does not require everybody to fear the same thing. Its advantage is giving the group several kinds of experience without sending them to different addresses. That is what makes it more than a haunted house near Elizabethtown; it becomes the location for the whole night.
Make the night worth leaving town
Elizabethtown has plenty of ways to spend a Friday or Saturday. Field of Screams is for the night when your group wants to go somewhere together, leave the familiar lights behind and face more than one kind of fear.
The barn is only the beginning. The woods, corn and wagon are still outside.
Choose your ticket, save your directions and send your group the complete visitor guide before you head to Brandenburg.
