Haunted House Near Corydon and Harrison County: Cross the Bridge Into Fear

Field of Screams 2026

Brandenburg sits directly across the Ohio River from Harrison County. On the Kentucky side, Field of Screams turns one farm into a barn, woods, corn maze and haunted hayride.

For people in Corydon and Harrison County, Kentucky is not some far-off Halloween destination. Brandenburg is directly across the Ohio River, and the Matthew E. Welsh Bridge connects Mauckport with the Kentucky side.

That makes Field of Screams one of the most natural haunted-attraction road trips for visitors from Corydon, Mauckport, Laconia, Elizabeth, Lanesville and the surrounding part of Southern Indiana.

When you reach the farm, the experience is bigger than a single haunted house. The Main Event moves through a six-acre haunted corn maze, a massive two-story haunted barn and the forbidden woods. Hayride 2 Hell adds a wagon route through fog-covered locations of horror.

Cross the bridge, keep driving into the dark and see how different the other side of the river looks at night.

Why Field of Screams fits a Harrison County night out

Harrison County visitors do not need a complicated weekend plan to turn October into an event. A good group night needs three things: a destination, enough to do when everyone arrives and a reason people will keep talking afterward.

Field of Screams gives the group four environments on one property. The barn is enclosed and close. The woods stretch outside the path. The maze puts six acres of corn around you. The hayride keeps the group together while the farm moves past in the fog.

That variety matters when people are crossing from different Harrison County towns. Nobody has to agree on one style of haunt. Choose the whole farm and let each person discover which environment was a mistake.

The bridge makes Brandenburg part of the local map

The Matthew E. Welsh Bridge connects Indiana State Road 135 with the Brandenburg side of the river. It links Mauckport and Brandenburg directly, which is why Harrison County deserves its own place in the Field of Screams search strategy.

Your exact route will depend on your starting point, current roads and navigation service. Use the live Field of Screams Directions page and set the route before you leave. Mobile signal can become thin near the farm.

Once you reach Brandenburg, remember the landmark that matters: the Otter Creek Park entrance. Do not turn into the park. Field of Screams is one mile farther down the road at 132 Darnall Ave.

Choose the night before you choose the ticket

The ticket decision is easier if the group agrees on the goal.

If everyone wants the core walk-through experience, the Main Event includes the corn maze, haunted barn and forbidden woods. If the group is coming specifically for the wagon, Hayride 2 Hell is available on its own. If crossing the bridge means you want everything, the Combo Ticket includes the whole farm.

Current 2026 prices and details are listed on the Tickets and Pricing page. Field of Screams is cash only, with ATMs onsite, and tickets are sold at the concession stand during operating hours.

Settle that before leaving Corydon or meeting near the bridge. The ticket window is not the place for six people to begin a twenty-minute debate.

A simple Corydon-to-Brandenburg night plan

Meet while there is still enough light to confirm that every driver has the route. Cross as a group only if each car can navigate independently. Arrive with the ticket decision made and cash handled. Take on the Main Event first or follow the attraction’s current onsite direction, then add Hayride 2 Hell if that is part of the ticket you chose.

Afterward, use a fixed meeting point before anyone starts the return trip. The person who spent the maze claiming to know the way should not automatically become the convoy leader.

This is not a rigid schedule; onsite operations and conditions control the night. It is simply a way to remove avoidable confusion so the farm can supply the part nobody can plan.

Dress for a farm after dark

This is not an indoor attraction where the parking lot is the only outdoor ground you see. The experience can move through fields, woods and corn. Wear comfortable shoes with grip and choose a pair you do not mind getting dirty.

Check the weather before leaving Indiana and wear layers that work outside. If one person in the group arrives dressed for a clean indoor hallway, send them the What To Expect page before they get in the car.

Plan for the 2026 season

Field of Screams is open Fridays and Saturdays from September 18 through October 31, 2026. The attraction opens at dusk, and the attraction runs until 1:00 AM.

Infants and toddlers are not permitted inside the attraction. Parents and guardians should use their own knowledge of older children when deciding whether outdoor darkness, loud moments and frightening characters will be enjoyable.
