Haunted House Near New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville

Field of Screams haunted attraction, Brandenburg Kentucky, near Louisville

Leave the Louisville-metro side of Southern Indiana for four haunted environments on one farm in Brandenburg, Kentucky.

New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville sit inside the Louisville metro rhythm: bridges, traffic, familiar streets and plenty of October events competing for the same Friday or Saturday night.

Field of Screams offers a change of setting. The attraction is deep in the darkness of Brandenburg, Ky, where a six-acre haunted corn maze, a massive two-story haunted barn, forbidden woods and Hayride 2 Hell share one property.

For visitors from Floyd and Clark counties, the appeal is not simply finding another haunted house. It is leaving the metro area for a night that feels larger, darker and harder to reduce to one quick walkthrough.

From metro lights to farm darkness

The transition is part of the experience.

In New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville, the river is framed by city light. Near the Field of Screams farm, fields, woods and roads take over. The attraction does not need to paint a rural backdrop because the rural landscape is already outside the door.

That landscape changes how fear works. Inside the barn, walls and corners control your view. Outside, the forbidden woods remove those boundaries. The corn maze replaces a straight exit with rows and turns. Hayride 2 Hell carries your group through fog-covered scenes while the wagon decides the pace.

If the group has spent the week inside offices, classrooms or the same familiar streets, the setting alone makes the night feel separate from ordinary life.

A Floyd and Clark county group plan

People coming from New Albany, Floyds Knobs, Georgetown, Jeffersonville, Clarksville, Sellersburg or Charlestown should organize around one meeting point before driving. Choose the driver, make sure everyone has the address and decide on the ticket before leaving.

The address is 132 Darnall Ave, Brandenburg, KY 40108. Route choices vary by starting point and current road conditions, so use the live Directions page instead of a route written into a seasonal blog post. Save the map while you still have a strong signal.

Field of Screams is one mile past the Otter Creek Park entrance. Do not turn into the park. Continue down the road and watch for the signs.

Pick the experience that matches the drive

The Main Event combines the six-acre corn maze, the two-story haunted barn and forbidden woods. Hayride 2 Hell is available separately. The Combo Ticket combines everything on the farm.

For a group leaving Floyd or Clark County, the Combo Ticket is the simplest way to turn the drive into a full destination night. That is not the right choice for everybody, however. A group focused on the core walkthrough can choose the Main Event, while hayride fans can choose the wagon experience.

Compare the current options and amounts on the Pricing page before the group gets on the road. Field of Screams is cash only. ATMs are onsite, and tickets are sold at the concession stand during operating hours.

What Southern Indiana visitors should bring

Bring practical shoes, cash and a plan.

You are walking real farm ground, not a paved entertainment complex. Choose comfortable shoes with grip and assume they may meet mud. Check the weather and use layers appropriate for a fall night outdoors.

Infants and toddlers are not permitted inside the attraction. If an older child is joining the group, the parent or guardian should consider how that individual handles darkness, loud moments and frightening characters.

Send the group our What To Expect page before leaving. The person who refuses to read it does not get to complain about their shoes later.

Turn the trip into a complete October outing

The attraction does not need extra activities added to make it substantial, but the group should still think about the evening as a whole. Meet early enough that nobody is rushing across the metro area. Eat before the drive if that suits the group, because this guide does not promise a particular food menu. Decide whether everybody returns to the same meeting point after the farm or leaves separately.

For a date, agree in advance that both people actually enjoy frightening attractions. For a friend group, choose one organizer and one final message containing the address, cash policy and ticket. For families with older children, make the decision around the individual child’s comfort rather than pressure from the group.

The goal is to let the trip away from New Albany, Jeffersonville or Clarksville feel intentional. Once the barn begins, the schedule can disappear.

Why the metro-side trip feels different

Floyd and Clark county visitors begin inside the Louisville metro environment. That creates a specific contrast: bridges, traffic and city light give way to a rural Kentucky farm. The arrival feels like a change of scene before the first attraction begins.

Use that transition instead of rushing through it. Put the route on, let the skyline fall behind and give the group time to settle into the idea that the return trip will happen after the barn, woods, corn and wagon have all had their chance.

2026 dates and hours

Field of Screams is open Fridays and Saturdays from September 18 through October 31, 2026. The attraction opens at dusk, and the attraction runs until 1:00 AM.

The complete visitor guide explains the 2026 ticket choices and all four attractions. The Southern Indiana cornerstone guide covers the wider region, including Harrison, Crawford, Washington and Perry counties.

Make the night feel farther away than it is

A good October trip does not have to be a long vacation. It only needs to move the group into a different world for a few hours.

From New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville, Field of Screams replaces the metro skyline with a farm after dark. Then it replaces the farm with a barn, woods, corn and fog.

Save directions to Brandenburg, choose the right ticket and bring everyone who still thinks Southern Indiana has seen every kind of Halloween night.
