A Southern Indiana Haunted Attraction for Crawford, Washington and Perry Counties

For groups from English, Marengo, Milltown, Salem and Tell City, Field of Screams turns a regional drive into a whole-farm haunted night.

People in Crawford, Washington and Perry counties already understand that a strong night out can cross a county line. In Southern Indiana, the most interesting destination is not always inside the nearest town.

Field of Screams is across the Ohio River in Brandenburg, Kentucky. It combines a six-acre haunted corn maze, a massive two-story haunted barn, forbidden woods and Hayride 2 Hell on one farm. For groups coming from English, Marengo, Milltown, Salem, Tell City and the surrounding communities, that combination can turn a regional drive into a full Halloween event.

The important question is not whether the attraction is in your county. It is whether enough is waiting when you arrive.

Why a multi-attraction farm earns the trip

A short indoor haunt can be fun, but distance changes the value calculation. When a group is driving from another county, everyone wants a destination that lasts longer in memory than it did on the path.

Field of Screams gives the night four different forms:

  • Six acres of haunted corn cut into a new design every year
  • A two-story haunted barn for the enclosed, classic haunted-house experience
  • Forbidden woods that move the fear outdoors beneath the trees
  • A fog-covered wagon route called Hayride 2 Hell

The Main Event includes the maze, barn and woods. The Combo Ticket adds the hayride. Visitors who only want the wagon can choose it separately. Compare all current options on the Tickets and Pricing page.

For a longer regional drive, agreeing on that choice before leaving saves time and prevents the group from splitting at the ticket window.

Crawford County: English, Marengo and Milltown

Crawford County visitors are part of the central Southern Indiana audience around Harrison County and the Ohio River. A Field of Screams night works best as a planned group trip: meet in one place, choose a driver, set the route and bring the clothing and payment the farm requires.

Do not rely on an estimated drive time in an old blog post. Use your actual starting point and current road conditions through our Directions page. The final address is 132 Darnall Ave, Brandenburg, KY 40108.

Washington County: Salem and surrounding communities

From Salem and Washington County, the same rule applies: make the destination the center of the evening. Choose whether the group wants three attractions or the whole farm, check the weather and leave with enough time to arrive while everyone still wants to walk first.

The attraction opens at dusk. Arriving prepared matters more than chasing a universal “perfect” arrival time. Send every person the What To Expect page before the group meets.

Perry County: Tell City and the river corridor

Tell City and Perry County visitors know the Ohio River as a route and a boundary. Field of Screams gives the group a reason to follow that regional landscape toward Brandenburg for a different kind of fall night.

Because the trip is longer than it is for Harrison County, check the live season schedule before leaving. Confirm the route, weather and ticket plan on the same day. Do not build the evening around a screenshot from an earlier season.

What about Orange, Scott and Spencer counties?

Visitors from Paoli and Orange County, Scottsburg and Scott County, or communities in Spencer County can use this guide as the starting framework. We are not going to publish duplicate pages that change only a town name. The useful facts remain the same: calculate the current route from your location, decide how much of the farm you want, bring cash and dress for outdoor ground.

Our broader Southern Indiana haunted-house guide connects the regional pages in one place.

What to know before leaving Indiana

Field of Screams is cash only, with ATMs onsite. Tickets are sold at the concession stand during operating hours. Wear comfortable shoes you do not mind getting dirty because the experience includes real farm ground, woods, fields and corn.

Infants and toddlers are not permitted inside the attraction. The 2026 season runs Fridays and Saturdays from September 18 through October 31, dusk until 1:00 AM.

Near the farm, keep going one mile past the Otter Creek Park entrance. Do not turn into the park. Mobile signal can become thin, so set the route before the last part of the drive.

Build one useful message for the whole group

Regional trips fall apart when the useful facts live in separate conversations. Put the date, meeting point, driver, address, ticket choice, cash policy and clothing note in one message. Ask everybody to acknowledge the actual plan, not only the idea of going.

If the group is coming from more than one county, do not force every vehicle to meet far out of its way. Choose a sensible common point or let each driver navigate to the farm independently. Set a specific place to reconnect after the attractions, especially because noise and rural signal can make last-minute calls less useful.

Give the group a story worth the distance

The best regional trips are the ones that feel like a decision, not an errand. You leave your town, follow the road toward the river and arrive somewhere built for the night you wanted.

At Field of Screams, the distance between the barn, woods, corn and wagon is measured in changing fear, not county lines.

Read the 2026 visitor guide, choose your ticket and save directions to the farm before the group leaves Southern Indiana.
